Visual Arts

The Queen’s Grant High School Visual Arts program is designed to provide students with many opportunities to develop their personal voice, hone critical thinking skills, and practice visual problem-solving. In beginning (Art 1) and intermediate (Art 2) art classes the projects and assignments build upon each other and are usually coupled with art history lessons and an introduction or review of the fundamental elements of art and principles of design. Media at these levels include drawing (pencil, colored pencil, marker/ink, charcoal/pastels, and oil pastels), painting (tempera, watercolor, and acrylic), mixed media, printmaking, and sculpture (paper mache in beginning levels and ceramics and styrofoam carving at the intermediate level).
